E&K Grants LLC is a mission-driven consulting business founded to strategically support nonprofit organizations’ grant writing and fundraising efforts, operated by co-owners Emma Jones, PhD and Kathleen Johnson, MPP. Together, we bring 30 years of experience furthering the missions of social service and social justice nonprofit organizations. Combined, we've raised over $30 million in grant funds, and we have implemented systems that significantly increased both efficiency and revenue at the organizations with whom we’ve worked.
Values:
We support equity- and justice-focused work.
We write about communities, clients, and services in an accurate, respectful, and strengths-based manner.
We tailor our approach to the client’s needs, goals, and unique voice.
We deliver timely, organized, and comprehensive grant proposals of the highest quality.
Approach:
E&K Grants provides grant writing and strategy support to equity-focused, justice-oriented nonprofit organizations with a wide range of aims including social justice, racial equity, and environmental justice. We have particular subject matter expertise in mental health and trauma-responsive care, domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, housing and homelessness, immigration, education, and youth centered services.
We have deep knowledge of the many types of grants available to organizations and the intricacies of proposal development for each grantor type, including government sources (federal, state, county, city, school district), private foundations, corporate foundations, family foundations, and donor-advised funds.
We have expertise in both organizational strategy and project management, particularly for grant proposals and fundraising processes, and ensure that every project we undertake is strategically aligned and supported by a foundation of agreed upon roles, responsibilities, timelines, and progress benchmarks.
